Indiana Bloomington!

It has been awhile since I last posted, sorry for the delay. I had been very busy with my assignments lately. Apparently its 3 times harder here than in Sunway, so you readers could pretty much guess how heavy the workload is. On a brighter note, Indiana is an excellent place to further your studies. Hint! Anyhow, I'll show you around with the pictures i took a week back.

Before I start, this is a picture of Narita airport in Japan on a busy afternoon. It was freezing cold when I arrived for transit.

In Russel's Acura. Arrived at 8pm in Indiana Airport. Initial plan was to either take a cab directly to bloomington or to spend a night in Indianapolis. Very much thank you to Russel who allowed me to crash his place in Indianapolis for a night. Petra made plans with him, lucky thing I could tag along.

He insisted on dropping me in Bloomington as well. For all readers, the distance from Indianapolis to Bloomington is like from KLIA to PJ. The ride took close to an hour or so. Forgotten to snap pictures on the way to Bloomington, was occupied throughout the whole journey to Bloomington.

This is where i live, West University Apartment. It looks pretty old as it has been around for 20 years or so. Shall bring you in!

What you're looking at now is from one end of my room. Not able to cover the whole room as the camera focus distance is a little screwed up. Anyway back to my room, this is my 500 dollars bed I've invested. For my comfort and sleep =) Categorized under essential item.

My L-shaped table and my leather chair. These items are very good investments as well, categorized under necessities too! Spend most of my time spinning around whenever I'm bored but this is where i study and have my meals too. Sadly no dining table, save cost and save space! Frankly, I don't think I need a dining table. My multi usage L-shaped table shall do!

View from a different angle.

Pretty nice table huh!

The door on the left is to my walk-in wardrobe in which you will see in the pictures below.
Kitchen angle!

Advancing into my kitchen, I do have a fridge. It comes together with the rent but generally speaking, the rent is ridiculously expensive. Most probably moving out end of this semester to a house. It will cost less and its more practical.

Took me nearly 2 weeks to stock up my fridge and to buy kitchen utensils and other necessary items.

Although things sold here are not very cheap, that's because of the exchange rate. A normal meal out will cost around $9 to $10. I've done the calculation, an average meal cooked at home will cost $3 to $4.
*All $ are in USD not RM. Current exchange rate is RM3.60 to $1USD. Do the math!

My walk in wardrobe where I hang and keep all my clothes. It is also a pathway to the bathroom.

My personal toilet! My sanctuary! =)

View outside my apartment.

Name of the apartment I'm living in. West University Apartments. More or less similar to Mont Kiara in KL.

Pathway through the music school. Can't wait till Spring, it would be scenic.

One of the fraternity houses. Frat houses here are huge!

Physics Hall. Just a small part of it. Imagine how big it is!

Classroom Building. This building specifically for cultural studies.

One of the sorority houses. Going in there one day! =)

Approaching the main building, Franklin Hall - headquarters.

One of Bloomington landmarks. Sample Gates!

Advisory Building! Apparently all buildings are different. Each department has its own buildings.

Another Building! Forgotten what this building is called. Well, there are 40,000 students and 15,000 faculty in this University. Everything is so sprawled, rarely see any skyscrapers in Bloomington.

Random Picture.

Indiana's International Memorial Union. This place is utilized very frequent. One of the hot spots in Indiana. Obama came here 3 months back for his speech though. I was still in Malaysia. Apparently he will be back in a few months time for another speech. So good news!

More walkways. As i said, very sprawled.

More of them!!

Weather in Bloomington is often GLOOMY during the winter.

Different view of IMU!

Indiana's trademark clock! Was wrapped pretty thick on that day. It was minus twenty five degrees Celsius. Freezing cold!

Empty during the winter, packed like hell during the summer. Common Area!

Some mystical statue. Couldn't figure whether it was a girl or a girl or maybe something else.

Closer pic with that 'thing'

Facing the opposite direction away the fountain.

Random statue out of nowhere!

Multipurpose Field! Equivalent to 3 football fields.

This is Kelley Business School in Indiana Bloomington. Where i'm studying at!

Mikki! Friend of mine whom I met during orientation, Philippino Chinese. Dishes we cooked one of those nights, Hariz not in the picture as he was cooking his own meal.

Vegetables! Mummy said i would be big and strong!

Wan Tan, Grilled Sausages, Tomato, and Marinated Grilled Chicken for dinner!

One of the meals I cooked in 15 minutes. Pretty simple meal. So much cheaper than eating out.

That's all for my post this time. The next post would most probably be next week. I'm a busy man building my career! Till then. Peace!

Departure - Overdue

Departure overdue. That's the title of this post. It has been more than 2 weeks since I embarked on a whole new adventure to a foreign country which i have not set foot in before. I do hope people back home are getting use to my absence. For all i know, my neighbors would be happy since they will not be bothered or disturbed by the boisterous laughter generated by my friends and I late at night. Anyway back to the main topic, departure overdue.

A picture with my second auntie's family as they came over to send me off before my family and I left to the airport.

Outside my lawn, with my mother in it as well. I'm missing my home so much. At home, i do not need to do the laundry, cook breakfast lunch and dinner, sweep and mop the floor, wash dishes etc. I know it sounded like I'm a spoiled brat but I'm not! Definitely sure about that, i have solid proof, so erase all your negative thoughts about me.

My mom and I, who has been feeding me with unlimited supply of GOOD food. That is why I gained a lot of weight =) HAHAHA!!

Last view of my place. As the picture is a little blurry, that shows how i see it in my eyes as well. Hmm =(. Not a very good sight but a memorable one although i have been staying in this house for almost a year, but an abundance of good memories will be kept and never to be forgotten.

Picture with my wifey in the car. It felt like the shortest trip ever to the airport then it usually does. Well .....

Another picture with my wifey.

Brad and I, times we spent together as Frodo and Sam will never be forgotten. Wait till I get back, we'll continue the adventure of Frodo and Sam. HAHA!!

David and I, David is also known as Mr Chew Eng Liong. My apprentice before, it took me less than a year to change him. Now he can blabber for hours without stopping. During the times in form 2, a complete sentence from him would be a miracle. Well, he even changed his name to david, that's a good sign. A quote from david - 'one goal, one million'.

Fei and I, we're good friends since primary school. All these years, your bullshit still does amuse me in many ways. Nights when we used to jump in school was great fun. Lets do it some other time when i get back.

Shiang Kitt and I, friends since primary school. He left to New Zealand after primary school to study cows and lambs. Kind of dead place but I'm really happy he came back a month before I left. Managed to hang out and got him pissed drunk. Lobster boy - take care of yourself.

Chee Yong and I, classmate buddy who sits right beside me in class for a whole 2 years. We'll drink more when the time comes. Unfortunately, this year i wont be able to be there for your birthday. Doubt you'll get pissed drunk as last year.

Amakor in red and I. He just lives behind my house and is a very good friend of mine. Classmates in form 4 and 5. Wishing you all the best in your application to the states, make sure you get everything done fast as we all know the procedures are a little tedious. Hoping to see you soon in Indiana though.

Jeckshen the vain pot and I. He managed to conquer the skill of self control and successfully showed results of his diet program. He prefers to be called the Malaysian Michael Phelps as he swims 3 to 4 times a week. Whoever needs advice about dieting, please consult Jeckshen at 1-800-JECK. Last but not least, he is also my starcraft kaki. - I'll crush you with my pylons and canons you blady zergling!

Hann, me, mak and Jeckshen.

Jolla, me and Tien Qi. We've spent 20 over days in Sabah and Sarawak together during the Outdoor Pursuit Camp. An exciting trip up the mountains enjoying the majestic view of Kota Kinabalu city. This is what reminds me off whenever i see all of you people together -Tien Qi and Jolla and supposedly Kae Mern too but he is in Canada.

Ooi Chi Khan and I. Known him through future kids sea park! Pretty cool place. A brother to me, but somehow an uncool brother to his sister perhaps =). Based on what the council has decided, you will remain uncool unless you do something out of the box. Sad to say, your sister is at the avant-garde level so its hard to compete and surpass her level of coolness. Going for a go-kart session with your sister doesn't make you any cooler, that's because you're going WITH her. On a lighter note, he is one of the guys who shaped who I really am today. Well, what could i say. We used to be cool! HAHA!!

Johnson and I. Introduced by Jordan, a friend from kampar. Known him pretty well although meeting him for less than 5 times. Interesting guy, would like to know more about him.

Nian and I. Hopefully he is able to fit his US trip into his holiday schedule middle this year. It would be fun if we could explore the states together. If possible, bring the explorer team together we created back in Malaysia. Will definitely miss you emo-boy. I know you had cried days and nights before i left, i do appreciate your cries and times u spent with me a week before my departure. You take care for now bro!

Jordan and I. An entrepreneur in the reptiles trade market in the coming future. As his major is marketing, he is practicing his skills to promote awareness to the people around him. Snake business brings big and good money though. Anyway he is one of the guys in the group as well. Iron man in pj, iron liver in kampar. Its good news you and Huey In is doing fine.

Hann and I. Classmates as well during high school. Apparently he will be leaving soon as well to Monash Australia. Wishing you all the best in all of your matters. Do keep in touch!

John and I. An unexpected surprise to meet him in the airport as he will be boarding a plane back to Singapore. He is currently working as a steward for Singapore Airlines. Pretty cool huh! Its good to see him after so long, what a coincidence.

Ee jin (phone) and I. She could not make it that night. But as the technology advanced quickly, she called. Haha! What an idea!

Wifey and I. Someone who I'm missing so much! Its just a matter of months before I'll be back or either you come over. I'm just away for awhile, and I'll definitely come back for you.

My brother came back late November last year. Family reunited after a year without my brother. This year its my turn and my brother would be going back to Australia in February as well. Leaving my mom, dad and my sister back home. I miss the noise at home. Anyway, my whole family including my auntie, uncle and cousins. I'm so thankful and grateful of their presence during my departure. Thank you so much mummy and daddy for everything. I know it cost a bomb sending me to America. The only thing i could reply is 'high investment, high return' and I'll make that sentence a fact.

Thanks guys for coming all the way to the airport on new year's day just for me. I really appreciate your gesture and good heart in every single way. I'm missing you people so much. Each an every one of you plays a part in my life. Take care for now, I'll be back soon!!

The first day of the year 2009

Celebrating New Year at The Curve was a perfect location to end year 2008 and welcome year 2009. It was also the last night I spend in Malaysia before leaving to the States. Well, everywhere else were packed and jammed up so the most ideal place to go for countdown would be The Curve.

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm on the left =) and my wifey is on the right.

We arrived earlier in order to avoid the massive jam as everyone is heading to the same location which is The Curve. In order to kill time, we went to Ikea in Ikano to walk and look around and also snapped a few pictures. Parked outside Fei's place that night, not The Curve parking lot. It would be worst after the countdown as the roads will be jammed packed. It took me just 15 minutes to get back home. Well, plan your escape =).

Me and my wifey again >.<
Somehow i like this picture very much. I'll tell you later.

This picture was took on the bridge interlinking between The Curve and Cineleisure Damansara. This was the spot where we were during the countdown. Fantastic view overlooking the packed roads filled with people and was an ideal location to watch fireworks. We could even see the fireworks that were let out from other end at 1UTAMA.

Dated 1st January 2009. 12.01am

After the countdown, we dropped by Chi Khan's place for a short visit. I stayed longer than expected. Thanks to the noxious drink Chi Khan poured and mixed for me. A mixture of 3 different wines and whiskey. Taste like soy sauce mixed with grape juice.

Me and Ben.

Me and Ee Jin.

Me and Michael.

Michael was so sad when he knew I'm leaving in a matter of a few hours, he burst into tears and started puking. What a way to say goodbye. I would never forget the 9 Million Chivas dream we aimed for since year 2006 after prom night. We would achieve our dream one day in the near future to come.

Went back home around 3.30am after saying goodbye at Chi Khan's place. Nian and Jeckshen came over not long after. Everyone was starving and demanded for food to be serve quick. They advanced to the kitchen very swiftly and sat down restlessly while waiting for their maggie mee to be cooked and served.

Pretty much that's it for my first post, at last!! Although i hope the night would never end, things still have to move on. I miss you sweetheart and my family and last but not least all my buddies back in Malaysia.
